Annapurna Fastpack 2023: Sometimes the unexpected happens when we least expect it, but it’s all part of the adventure. Our Annapurna team had to take a detour before Thorung La 5414m due to adverse weather and unforeseen circumstances, but we were fortunate to experience the Himalayas in all of its raw beauty. This is a reminder to always be prepared and expect the unexpected while adventuring in Nepal.

And in other news

Wilderness First Aid training: We successfully completed our Wilderness First Aid training for trekking guides in collaboration with Blue Ridge Adventure Med, VTC Wilderness Medicine Fellowship, Trekking Agency Association of Nepal, and Himalayan Adventure Labs!

Congratulations to all participants for enhancing their skills in handling medical emergencies in the wilderness, ensuring safer trekking experiences in Nepal. Special thanks to Dr. Jessie Gehner and her team for their invaluable expertise in teaching wilderness medicine essentials. Your support made this program a success!

HAL Annual Training Trip: Our HAL team set out on an unforgettable journey in early April, and what an adventure it was! Though we sorely missed Anuj and Niraj, the camaraderie among the team was unmatched! Originally planned for Shivapuri, the allure of exploring the mesmerizing Rolwaling valley was too enticing to resist. So, we took a detour!

This breathtaking region in the east-central Himalayas, along the Tibet border, boasts impressive peaks like Melungtse (7181m), Melungtse II (7023m) in Tibet, and Gaurishankar (7134m) on the Nepal border, along with 50 more peaks soaring above 6000m. The landscapes extended from the Nangpa La pass to the Tamakoshi river, leaving us in awe.

We trekked from Chetchet to the magnificent Tsho Rolpa glacier lake and back, honing our expertise in HAL trip management. From mastering medical wilderness skills to client management, we grew as adventurers in the heart of these majestic mountains.

Introducing HOSI: Promoting Safe Adventure in Nepal: At Himalayan Adventure Labs, our commitment to safe and responsible adventure tourism in Nepal led us to launch the Himalayan Outdoor Safety Initiative (HOSI). Our program equips outdoor companies and freelance mountain guides with essential resources, satellite devices, medical insurance, and world-class support.
