Himalayan Adventure Labs is embarking on our most exciting undertaking yet: a multi-season expedition programme along the Great Himalaya Trail, running from 2026 through 2028. We are inviting you to join us as we dedicate ourselves to unlocking the Himalayas’ most legendary trails and venturing deep into its seldom-seen hidden valleys, known as beyuls. A true immersion in the heart of the world’s greatest mountain range.

The Great Himalayan Trail: Section by Section. Season by Season.

Forget the quick in-and-out. We are running a sectional journey along the Great Himalaya Trail. Each season our team establishes a temporary base, a combination of select teahouses and wild camps, allowing us to live and breathe one to three distinct regions. We are moving east to west, starting with the Kanchenjunga region and pushing all the way to remote Humla, with scouting underway in Nepal’s wild Api Nampa Conservation Area.

Why this deep dive? By immersing ourselves for an entire season, we gain unparalleled local knowledge, forge genuine connections with the people, savour unique regional cuisine, and navigate the landscapes with an intimacy no short trip can offer. Expect trekking, fastpacking, trail running, mountain biking, bouldering and targeted peak climbing, with streamlined logistics and a far more rewarding adventure than a quick pass-through allows.

2026 Expeditions:

Spring (March–May) – The Eastern Giants · Completed

The groundwork started early. In November 2025, Sudeep led a crew of eight connecting the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area to Makalu Barun National Park – trip report here.

In spring 2026, Srijan led the Kanchenjunga Fastpack. Weather had other plans – full trip report.

Autumn (September to November) – Everest

Everest needs no introduction. This will be our third time running this one. The Everest Three Passes Fastpack (October 2 – 18, 2026) crosses Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La – three passes above 5,000m in the heart of the Khumbu.

2027 Expeditions:

Spring (March to May): The culturally richer corners of Gaurishankar Conservation Area. Explore the pristine landscapes of Langtang with Langtang Lollipop (May 16–30, 2027) crew. We are also scouting the hidden Ruby Valley.

Autumn (September to November): The revered Manaslu Conservation Area including Tsum Valley, and the Annapurna Conservation Area through the lesser-visited Naar and Phu valleys.

    2028 Expeditions:

    Spring (March to May): A crossing from Manang to Mustang over Teri La, and the breathtaking wilderness of Dolpo and Shey Phoksundo National Park, heading into Mugu.

    Autumn (September to November): The Far West

    Rara National Park, the Limi and Dozam valleys of Humla, Saipal Base Camp, and Nepal’s wild frontier in the Api Nampa Conservation Area.
